Himire

The religion of Himire originates from the first year of Dóhn(Exact Date: D1, Arth 4th), after the four saints came to Woldwynne and told about the stone-giant Himes. The Brave believed that this stone-giant ruled over the world of Esgar and controlled every single event that happened and still was going to happen. The name is a combination of the name “Himes”(Hi) and the Howynne word for religion, mire.

The main focus of this religion is spreading the word to outsiders of the religion and praising their lord Himes. Written in the books it says:

“Bred in a mountain, born out of stone. Himes is the creator of which we all of this own.”

Sacrifices are thrown into a deep pit inside Mount Oldar, the mountain that surrounds Woldwynne, to show Himes that the people of Woldwynne praise him and to ask for remorse for all their sins and to ask for a good year. Priests of Himire say that if the prayers and sacrifices are accepted, you will hear a loud roar from underneath Mount Oldar. But none of this has been confirmed by anyone.

This religion also has a holy quest. Since the “Saints of Himire”, nobody has ever seen or heard from the stone-giant(Himes). Priests of this religion are desperatly searching for any signs of his excistence, but haven’t found anything except for a symbol on Mount Oldar that is rumoured to be the door to his realm. But also none of this has been confirmed.

Although that Himire is the most common religion in Esgar, it also has a lot of critics that don’t believe that one stone-giant can rule all of Esgar, without even entering the world. These critics are mostly Woads, who have their own religion called “Nature Religion”.
