Holidays of Esgar

 

Like Earth, Esgar has its very own holidays. We have discovered a few, but our historians are sure that there have to be many more holidays hidden somewhere in the found documents.

 

Saints of Himire:

In the first year of Dóhn(Exact Date: D1, Arth 4th) four people visited Woldwynne. Two men and two women. They claimed to have seen a huge man made of out stone. According to the men and women he called himself Himes. He told them that he had been watching their civilization for years, scripting every single event and interfering in unknown ways if something happened not to his liking. According to the Seers these four people had seen the God of Esgar, turning them into Saints. The Seers and the Saints grow the religion called “Himire”.

 

Banishment of the Woads:

In the first year of Brànd(Exact Date: B1, Sògh 14th) a rumour spread about Woads raiding villages near the forests of Soutvale. As a former Woad, Bors had to make an almost impossible decision. He did not know if the rumours were true, so he went to speak with one of the Woad Druïds. But during his absence, Riddle Hollowbrand(The first heir of Hollowbrand) took the power over Southvale, commanding the “Warriors of Rage” to extinguish the Woads, including Bors(He was a first-blood of the Woads). Due to this event, a war started between the Woads and the House of Southvale. After the war had ended on B1, Myhm 23th, Bors was taken prisoner and convicted of treason later that day. This led to the banishment of the surviving Woads.

 

Birth of Yóhn:

The era of Yóhn exists, just like the era of Dóhn, out of five years. We still have no clue of what could have led to the “Birth of Yóhn”, but we know that it must have had a great impact on all of Esgar, because it has been called out to be a national holiday. Although we don’t know what has started the era of Yóhn, we are pretty sure of what has ended it. In the fifth year of Yóhn(Exact Date: Y5, Cyrt 25th) the end of the biggest war in the history of Esgar, called “The Forgotten War”, led to the end of the era of Yóhn.

 

The Forgotten War:

The Forgotten War is the biggest war that has ever taken place in Esgar. The war ended on the 25th sunrise of Cyrt in the fifth year of Yóhn, when the druïd called Mellin tried to free Argo Théfreì from a necromancer called Deryn, but the only way possible was by opening a world gate.
