Southvale

Southvale is a kingdom in the south-east of Esgar. It was called Southvale by a rebellious group of Woads that had settled in its forests. The government of Southvale is called "The House Of Hollowbrand".

Due to the fact that almost every citizen originates from the Woad-tribe which was led by a berserker called Bors Hollowbrand, they call themselves "Citizens of the Clan of Hollowbrand", or "Clan of Hollowbrand" for short.

The most common language in Southvale is Coracre, although many citizens still know a word or two of Howynne or Woaden.

ORIGIN

The Clan Of Hollowbrand originates from the first year of Dóhn(Exact Date: D1, Sògh 9th). The clan started as a rebellious Woad-tribe in Southvale. When Bors Hollowbrand took the power over Southvale by defeating it’s former rulers in the third year of Dóhn(Exact Date: D3, Arth 2nd), the clan grew fast. Since it’s first existance the clan has always been rebellious and their knights are also known as “Warriors of Rage” of which they proudly do honor to that title. Since the second year of Yóhn(Exact Date: Y2, Limn 12th), Barin Hollowbrand(the ninth heir of Hollowbrand) has ruled over Southvale.

OFFICIAL HOLIDAY: Banishment of the Woads

In the first year of Brànd(Exact Date: B1, Sògh 14th) a rumour spread about Woads raiding villages near the forests of Southvale. As a former Woad, Bors had to make an almost impossible decision. He did not know if the rumours were true, so he went to speak with one of the Woad Druïds. But during his absence, Riddle Hollowbrand(The first heir of Hollowbrand) took the power over Southvale, commanding the “Warriors of Rage” to extinguish the Woads, including Bors(He was a first-blood of the Woads). Due to this event, a war started between the Woads and the House of Southvale. After the war had ended on B1, Myhm 23th, Bors was taken prisoner and convicted of treason later that day. This led to the banishment of the surviving Woads.
